Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Farm offered high-quality breeding calves that will play an important role in agriculture, livestock, and genetic research for sale through auction. The calves, born as a result of the joint efforts of the Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Research Application and Research Center and the Embryo Transfer Center operating under the MAKÜ Revolving Fund Management Directorate, were put up for sale to meet an important need in the sector.
The calves emerged as a product of embryo transfer studies that started 5 years ago. Among the group consisting of 21 high-quality breeding bulls and male calves genetically, 14 male breeding calves became the subject of fierce competition among buyers in the auction. The revenue obtained will be used in embryo transfer and farm-related projects, contributing significantly to the future development of the MAKÜ farm.
The auction organized by the Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Research Application and Research Center was attended by Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ömer Tekşen, Prof. Dr. Hakan Öner, Center Director Dr. Res. Assist. İlktan Baştan, Revolving Fund and Management Director Assoc. Dr. Hakkı Kıymık, farm staff, and breeders.
